Nutcracker Ballet
For those of you that don't know I am in the Primary in my ward. We have a small Primary but a very lively one. Everyone is always so willing to participate. Sometimes they fight over who gets to say the prayer. I thought I would never see that happen.
Well one of my kids was in the Nutcracker Ballet. I thought I would go and see her. Another girl wanted to go but her mom did not want to, so Ryan and I took her. First we went to Soup Plantation and ate dinner with her family and other friends then off to the Ballet. Ryan handled it pretty well. He did not even play games on his phone...impressive. I love to talk to children. They say the best things. The girl we took is a talker. She made me laugh a lot. Although there was one thing she said that I could not believe. She told me there are First Graders and her school that have an I-phone. Wow! That is ridiculous.
All in all we had a good time. It was a nice because it helped me get in the Christmas Spirit.

Sweat Love
Ryan has a concave chest. For those of you who don't know what that is, his chest has a little indentation. It is perfect for laying ones head on. Really...I love laying on his chest. My head fits so nicely in the little indentation and my ears don't get smashed.

LA Visit
Ryan and I went to LA a few weeks ago. We went to the movies with our friend Ean and he took us, to a Thai Restaurant with a singing Thai Elvis. I don't have any pictures of that but it was awesome. My Sister Maria came and ate with us. Then we saw the new James Bond Movie with Ean and his friends. Good times but it was a very fast trip. We did not leave San Diego until 3pm and left LA at 11pm.
Can you tell I make my husband so happy!

New Background-Rock Star
Well I thought that I would change the Blog background because lets get serious...it was not very masculine. So, I thought I would look under the "Rock Star" heading. I think Ryan secretly wants to be a Rock Star. I hope you love it Ryan. I did it for you again!

The Fog

Well Ryan and I had a good time in Rexburg. It was awesome! It was 40-50 degrees which was much warmer than last year. The trip there was great. Coming home...not so great. First our flight was delayed 2 hours. Okay, I can handle that. Then when we were up in the air Ryan told me were were flying in circles. I thought that was weird. Soon the Pilot told us that we would not be able to land in San Diego because of the fog. Personally I was okay with this because I know San Diego is a dangerous airport to land in and I was glad they were not putting my life in danger. Then we heard we were going to land in Ontario. I was excited because that is 15 minutes away form my parents house. Then the beginning of the bad news:
1. We landed in LAX (a little after midnight)
2. They told all of us to get our luggage and buses would be there to pick us up and take us to San Diego. When people asked the lady what buses, all she said was "Go get your luggage and I will be down there".
3. An hour later (the lady was not down there) we were told there were no buses.
4. We were told there was one shuttle but it only held 7-9 people.
5. They would give us a hotel room but we would have to be back at the airport at 5am to maybe catch the 7am flight.
Then to show how spoiled I am, I called my Dad and he drove 45 minutes to pick us up. He offered to drive us to San Diego that night but I thought that was a little ridiculous (5 hours of driving for him). He drove us to Rancho. Got there about 3am. Fixed us breakfast in the morning and then drove us to San Diego.
Thanks Dad!

Masculine?
I looked for a new blog background today and I wanted something that I think Ryan and I would both like. Naturally I looked under masculine blogs backgrounds and found this one! I was so excited because I don't think I could have gotten anymore masculine than this background. (True Story)
Hope you love it Ryan! I did it for you :)

Best Baby Punch
Back at the beginning of October my Supervisor Vicki had a baby shower. I made a blue punch for the occasion and if I do say so myself it looked so so cute and it was delicious. I hope all my friends have boys because I will make you the best baby shower punch ever!
Umpaloompa
I got my new Driver's License today. I guess the the DMV thinks I am an Umpaloompa. Here is a picture of my new picture and another picture ( I choose it because I like Ryan's face) of my face with it's natural color.
Thank you Elton John
I have to say that Elton John has given more confidence in society. Read article.

California passed prop 8 not Utah
I have been thinking a lot with the Proposition 8. It saddens me to see so much hate and that people who don't agree with me think that I encourage hate. I don't.
I believe there should be gay rights. I am all for it. Please just let us keep the definition of marriage. This is all we are asking for. When the African Americans/Blacks were fighting for their rights they did not asked to be called white, they just asked for the same rights. When women were fighting for their rights, we did not ask to be called men, we just wanted the same rights. I am all for same sex unions to keep their rights (since they are the exact same as marriage please read: California Family Code – Section 297.5 Reads297.5 (a) Registered domestic partners shall have the same rights, protections, and benefits, and shall be subject to the same responsibilities, obligations, and duties under law, whether they derive from statutes, administrative regulations, court rules, government policies, common law, or any other provisions or sources of law, as are granted to and imposed upon spouses.)
I just don't want to call it marriage because I believe marriage is between and man and a women. This is what I believe. I have the right to believe this. I don't understand how this is hate.
That being said, the LDS church has come under a lot of persecution lately. It makes me sad but I guess that is what happens when you stand up for what you believe in and it is not the worldly or popular way to go about it. I think the people who are only going after Mormons are cowards. Why not go after the Jews or the Catholic Church too? They also gave money and helped to pass Prop 8. It is just easier to go after the Mormon church.
Oh and by the way...it was NOT Utah or the people in Utah who swept in and passed prop 8. It was the people ALREADY IN CALIFORNIA! We were the ones. It was other people besides Mormons. Mormons make a very small percentage of California. Not all Mormons even voted yes, some voted no. Guess what, they are still Mormon. Oh, and no one would even know how a Mormon voted unless they asked. The Church has not asked us to tell them how we voted. They encouraged us to Vote Yes, but they did not force us. Seriously people, use your brain to think and make your arguments. Yes, Mormons gave money from their own pocket and got our the word, but we did not force anyone to vote a certain way. People chose for themselves. Blame everyone who voted yes. I guess the lies will continue.
Now that I am off my soap box I have to state that I think the people who are blaming the church and spreading lies are a small population of the no side. I believe that the majority of people who voted no on Prop 8 are good people who don't agree with me and do not go around spreading lies and hate. If someone voted no, I am glad they used their rights to voice their opinion and I am okay that they disagree with me. It is sad the few are representing their side so poorly.
Here is a quote that helped me feel better.
A quote from Joseph Smith:
“The Standard of Truth has been erected; no unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing; persecutions may rage, mobs may combine, armies may assemble, calumny may defame, but the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent, till it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime, swept every country, and sounded in every ear, till the purposes of God shall be accomplished, and the Great Jehovah shall say the work is done” (History of the Church, 4:540).

Prop 8
Now this is very interesting. It is a blog from Marvin Perkins a prominent African American Mormon. Hmm, the media is not biased right? I though he might want people to really know what he said.

Welcome Week

The busiest week of my life is over. Welcome Week is the week at UCSD where our office plans events for all the students. All events are free and I supervise 2 Interns that help to create the magical week of fun and excitement for the Marshall students at UCSD.
I liked to complain because I was working 13-14 hours a day, Then I realize I get extra vacation time and my working overtime is going to Hypnotists show, BBQs, and Casino Nights.

Snake or Lizard?

Ryan and I went to the World Famous San Diego Zoo on Friday. This is how I learned about this amazing reptile, the Legless Lizard, also known as Anniella Pulchra Nigra. Yes, the picture above is a Lizard not a snake. Not all Lizards have legs. In fact the legless lizards are beautiful and are found in sandy areas of California. These reptiles are amazing and also very misunderstood. I am trying to debunk some of the myths of legless lizards.
Differences between legless Lizards and Snakes:
1. Lizards have movable eyes and eyelids
2. Lizards have a boast row of scales on their bellies
3. The legless lizard is still able to break off its tale when caught by a predator.

Biases
I thought this article was interesting. I am just tired of the media in general. I wish it was easier to find out the truth from all sides.

Sugar Mama

That's right I am a Sugar Mama. For the past week and 1/2 I have been bringing in all the money. Ryan has had some deserved time off. I have to say I am pretty good at being a Sugar Mama and Ryan is very good at being a Kept Man. He enjoys doing the laundry, fixing some of the dinners and watching marathons of CSI and movies all day.
I would now like to quote from Ryan's text to me on his first day of being a Kept Man. " I have moved to the recliner to switch things up." That was at 12:30pm and when I left the house at 8:30am he was on the couch. For those men who might be jealous, this Sunday is the last day of Ryan being a Kept Man.
Here I am hard at work...such a good Sugar Mama. I know my job seems very challenging. I just do what I have to do to keep us alive.
True Love
Ryan finally broke down and saw a musical with me. He bought me wicked tickets for my birthday. For those of you that don't know...Ryan HATES musicals. When I mean HATE I mean HATE. Julia and I once tried to trick Ryan into watching Newsies at our friends house, but instead of watching it he locked himself in the bathroom for 30 minutes. We finally left because he was not going to give in. I on the other hand LOVE musicals and I mean LOVE. I would be happy if all movies were musicals. I knew it was True Love when Ryan went with me to see Wicked and did not complain once. I thought the day would never happen. It might never happen again but I am satisfied with the one.

Miniature horse vs Normal size horse
I have wanted a horse since I can remember. I used to pray that I would have horse when I was young. Well, here is the discussion. Miniature horse vs a normal size horse. Ryan wants a miniature horse and I want a regular size horse. Argument for miniature horse - 1. Take them for a walk along the beach 2. Pretty much they will replace a dog. Argument for regular size horse - 1. They are beautiful so it is nice just to look at them. 2. You can actually rid e a normal size horse. 3. They are a good comfort pet. 4. They teach children discipline and good work ethic 5. It is so FUN to ride horses.
Here are some pictures to help decide what you would get.
